The National AI Research Lab (NAIRL) successfully signed a meaningful Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for AI innovation and global cooperation with the delegation from “Government for Citizens” (Gov4C), a state corporation of Kazakhstan, at the Seoul AI Hub on the 31st.
In his welcoming remarks, Kee-Eung Kim, Director of the National AI Research Lab, shared the core vision and philosophy of the lab as South Korea’s AI research hub with the distinguished guests from Kazakhstan. Director Kim stated, “It is an honor to host our distinguished guests from Kazakhstan who have visited the lab despite their busy schedules,” adding, “I hope this meaningful MOU will serve as a catalyst for discovering numerous collaborative opportunities between our two institutions.”
During the event, Arman Kenzhegaliyev, Chairman of the Management Board of Gov4C, emphasized that knowledge exchange with Korea’s leading AI hub is an essential foundation that will bring excellent results to Kazakhstan’s successful adoption of AI technology and digital innovation. He responded by saying, “I am very pleased to meet you in person, hear the vision of the lab, and work together on future cooperation through this MOU,” expressing confidence that “the close partnership between our two institutions will yield outstanding results.”
During the working meeting, the two institutions held in-depth discussions on comprehensive cooperation measures to proactively establish AI technology in Kazakhstan. Beyond simple technology exchange, they agreed to build a multifaceted partnership supporting the strengthening of Kazakhstan’s national AI capabilities, ranging from advising on establishment and operation of a local AI research lab to core researcher and talent exchange programs.
Furthermore, H.E. Nurgali Arystanov, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea, stated, “The meeting with the National AI Research Lab will bring new and groundbreaking innovation to Kazakhstan,” suggesting that international cooperation based on capacity sharing is essential. He also expressed his expectation that, “Ahead of major upcoming bilateral exchange events, this partnership with the lab will serve as an excellent stepping stone toward more comprehensive national-level cooperation.”
We express our deep gratitude to the Kazakhstan Gov4C delegation and the officials from the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Korea for helping to open this meaningful venue for dialogue and action. NAIRL will continue to work closely with partners around the world, transcending borders to build an innovative global AI ecosystem beyond Asia.
