NAIRL Director Receives the Order of Merit on ‘Software Industry Day’

Kee-Eung Kim, Director of the National AI Research Lab (NAIRL), received the Order of Merit (Geunjeong Medal) at the 26th Software Industry Day ceremony on December 1, 2025  in recognition of his significant contributions to the advancement of Korea’s software and AI industries.

Director Kim was highly recognized for leading foundational AI research as an Endowed Chair Professor at KAIST and for fostering a global open innovation ecosystem by heading NAIRL, the nation’s largest industry-academia-research-government consortium.

Expressing a deep sense of responsibility regarding the honor, Director Kim stated that he will continue to dedicate himself to driving the leap forward of Korea’s artificial intelligence and software sectors.
