Le Monde Cites NAIRL Advisory Board Chairman on Korea’s AI Strategy
Le Monde, one of France’s most influential daily newspapers, published an in-depth feature on September 7 (local time) titled “En Corée du Sud, l’IA s’impose au cœur des évolutions économiques et sociétales” (In South Korea, AI takes center stage in economic and social change). Timed to coincide with President Lee Jae-myung’s state visit to France and the Korea-France summit, the article examines Korea’s AI strategy amid the restructuring of the global AI supply chain, citing a written interview with Wonki Min, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the National AI Research Lab (NAIRL).
“Korea has adopted an ecosystem-based approach, covering both demand and supply. AI investment is expected to become a growth engine for the next twenty to thirty years,” Chairman Min explained, noting that Korea is moving quickly to position itself at the center of the global AI supply chain before its restructuring is complete. He also observed that by reducing the time required for research, design, and implementation, AI accelerates the circulation of capital across the entire economy, translating into lower costs and greater dynamism.
