Kee-Eung Kim, Director of the National AI Research Lab (NAIRL), published an expert op-ed welcoming the Korean government’s successful acquisition of 260,000 state-of-the-art AI GPUs as a groundbreaking milestone that will dramatically strengthen the nation’s AI research infrastructure.

Director Kim emphasized that this massive expansion of computing resources will empower the broader domestic AI research community, including NAIRL, allowing researchers to freely conduct large-scale AI training and innovative experiments that were previously constrained by hardware limitations.
