Seon Joo Kim

Professor Seon Joo Kim is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at Yonsei University, where he leads the Computational Intelligence & Photography (CI&P) Laboratory.

He received his B.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Yonsei University in 1997 and his M.S. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the same university in 2001.
He then earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008.

Before joining Yonsei University in 2013, he worked as a researcher at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and as a visiting scientist at Facebook.
His research focuses on computer vision, computer graphics, computational photography, and machine learning, with particular emphasis on image and video processing, object recognition, and image restoration—key technologies in visual artificial intelligence.
