Daehyung Park

Associate Professor

Professor Daehyung Park is an Associate Professor at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), where he leads the Robust Intelligence and Robotics Laboratory (RIRO Lab). His research interests lie in mobile manipulation, artificial intelligence, and human-robot interaction, with a particular focus on developing humanoid robots that can collaborate with and assist humans.

 

Before joining KAIST, he was a Postdoctoral Associate at MIT CSAIL until 2020, where he worked on inverse reinforcement learning and knowledge reasoning methods. He earned his Ph.D. in Robotics from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2018, conducting research on assistive robots and anomaly detection.

 

Previously, he received his M.S. from the University of Southern California (USC) and his B.S. from Osaka University, and worked at Samsung Electronics’ Manufacturing Technology Research Center from 2008 to 2012, developing industrial robots.

 

Professor Park’s research has been recognized with several honors, including the ICRA Outstanding Planning Paper Award (2023), Google Research Scholar Award (2022), and ICRA Outstanding Navigation Paper Finalist (2022).
