Youngwoon Lee

Assistant Professor

Youngwoon Lee is an assistant professor in the Artificial Intelligence Department of Yonsei University. Prior to joining Yonsei University, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley working with Prof. Pieter Abbeel. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Southern California in 2022, advised by Prof. Joseph J. Lim, and received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science at KAIST. His research goal is to enable robots to learn complex real-world tasks, especially with complex robotic systems, such as humanoid robots. Particularly, his research focuses on developing scalable reinforcement learning and skill learning frameworks that can leverage prior knowledge and diverse data. His research has won the Best Conference Paper Award at ICRA’24, the Best System Paper Award at RSS’23, and the Best Paper Presentation Award at CoRL’20
