NAIRL establishes responsible governance and collaborative leadership to strengthen national AI research capacity.

Through transparent operations and strategic leadership, NAIRL leads the future of AI research in Korea.

NAIRL (National AI Research Lab) aims to strengthen national AI research capacity through a responsible governance framework based on collaboration among academia, industry, and research institutions.
This project is conducted as a national R&D program supervised by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), with support from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Seocho-gu Office.

KAIST serves as the lead research institution, and Prof. Kee-Eung Kim of the Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI, KAIST, serves as the Director and Principal Investigator, overseeing the research direction and overall operations of NAIRL. Yonsei University, Korea University and POSTECH participates as co-research parties.

Drawing on world-class research achievements and extensive experience in artificial intelligence, Prof. Kim provides leadership to ensure that NAIRL creates both academic and societal value as a national AI research hub.
