China’s AI Ascent: A Call for Unbiased Evaluation and Reality Check

Director Kee-Eung Kim of the National AI Research Lab (NAIRL) and other top domestic economic and industry experts recently convened at a roundtable to diagnose Korea’s economic crisis amid slow growth and analyze the driving forces behind China’s rapid technological ascent.

During the discussion, Director Kim diagnosed that China is accelerating innovation armed with a vast talent pool and flexible regulatory environment, having already reached a technological level on par with the United States.

He particularly emphasized that Korea must view China’s technological leaps without prejudice, urging the acceptance of the cold reality that China is already ahead of the nation in both quantity and quality.
