Seoul Invites NAIRL, Pledges Full Support for High-Tech Industries

Director Kee-Eung Kim of the National AI Research Lab (NAIRL) and other leading domestic AI experts met with the Mayor of Seoul to deeply discuss comprehensive strategies for fostering the future AI industry and nurturing core talent.

The experts emphasized that software-oriented strategies for talent development, such as education and employment, are just as crucial as securing hardware infrastructure, prompting the city to promise bold deregulation and the creation of a 500 trillion-won fund to support innovative companies.

Furthermore, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced its ambitious goal to train ten thousand AI professionals annually and build a cutting-edge ecosystem, expressing a strong commitment to establishing itself as a global innovation hub to help Korea leap forward as a top-three AI power.
