NAIRL Hosts Innovation Showcase 2026, Bringing 45 AI Technologies to Industry
National AI Research Lab (NAIRL) hosted the NAIRL Innovation Showcase 2026 on October 6 at the Seocho AICT in Seoul. The event presented live demonstrations of 45 AI technologies from 41 research labs across NAIRL’s consortium of KAIST, Korea University, Yonsei University, and POSTECH, designed to help companies discover the technologies they need and connect directly with research teams for proof-of-concept projects, joint research, and technology transfer.
The exhibition was organized into four zones built around industry interests and problems: Better AI (10 technologies) on making AI faster, cheaper, and safer; Physical AI (15) on robots that see, decide, and move; Industry and Science AI (9) on better design, prediction, and operations; and Creative and Multimodal AI (11) on seeing, hearing, creating, and searching. A Technology Guide covering all 45 technologies was provided to participating companies in advance, helping them identify relevant technologies before visiting the booths.
Opening with welcoming remarks from NAIRL Director Kee-Eung Kim, the event continued through the afternoon with open demonstrations and matching sessions. Technologies on display included a robot manipulation system for crop pruning and harvesting, the Seoul World Model built on real city data, an agentic AI workbench for integrated analysis of dementia clinical records, and a robot that writes by replicating the handwriting of notable figures, each exploring its path toward industrial application.
Throughout the venue, one-on-one consultations between corporate representatives and researchers took place through pre-arranged meetings and on-site matching. The event brought together some 300 participants, including university researchers and representatives from companies and investment firms, who discussed potential applications and avenues for collaboration.
NAIRL will connect the corporate needs gathered at the event with its research labs, supporting follow-up meetings, proof-of-concept projects, joint research, and technology transfer. NAIRL will continue to link research outcomes with real-world industry problems, fostering an ecosystem where research drives both scientific discovery and industrial innovation.
